sally ann mcintyre spent six weeks as artist in residence on kapiti island during march-may 2012, under the umbrella of the wild creations programme, which gives new zealand-based artists the opportunity to make site-responsive and ecologically aware work in locations of interest for their conservation value. the scheme is jointly administered by the new zealand department of conservation and the national arts funding body creative new zealand, and in this case was also kindly facilitated by the kaitiaki o kapiti trust.
